Yes, we are ALL struggling to get through this lull in our businesses because of COVID-19. There no routines or at least not the same ones we used to have, cancellations from clients, postponements of events, and everything else you can think of. Like I’ve said before, during those small moments of focus, there are a few things you can work on. For example: Up your Instagram game and focus on your social media presence.
Since some of us have some extra time on our hands, maybe in the mornings (if you are not homeschooling…) or in the evenings. Just take some time to up your game, make some small changes and be more active on your social media channel.
Let’s begin with some small tweaks. These are simple to things you can do in less than an hour or so. For example:
Optimize your bio
Add a good professional headshot that shows your personality.
Be clear about who you are and what you offer.
One more thing, don’t forget to add necessary links to other IG accounts you run and to your website (This one is really important!)
See? Not too complicated so you should be able to make these changes in just a few minutes
Use Stories
Share your own posts
Share useful content from others in your industry
Even gifs to lighten the mood are a fun addition
Create an Instagram landing page
Link to your blog
Add a short bio with some fun details about you
Add a link to your most popular service
Link to your subscribers list and use an application like Convertkit to reach your audience through email.
Show your face!
Do short videos on your stories
Do a live session to answer questions
Plan a fun live video session with a vendor from your industry
I do want to point out that not everyone feels comfortable doing video. Yes, it is the way to go now a dy but if it’s something that you try and feel is not your thing, then IT’S OK! You can always find other fun alternatives to get the most out of your media channels.
Now, give yourself grace if you don’t feel like working nonstop during this season. There’s a lot of stress and tension with everything that is going on so it’s ok to not feel ok. Small changes do lead to progress so keep in mind that this pandemic will be over and your business is still going to be there. Do not give up, friend!
